Etsy

So I have been thinking of opening a shop with Etsy for quite awhile now and just haven’t. I kept making excuses about how I didn’t think anything I did was good enough blah blah blah... Anyway my honey who always knows what to say in times like this told me there will be people who don’t like my stuff but there will be those that do...AAAHHHH and a light shone from heaven. So I figured if I can post this I can make all the excuses I want but I’ve commited in writing...I can’t chicken out again. One of my wonderful friends DD saw what I planned to make for my shop and immediatly wanted one. YYaaaahhh! Now I am commited in writing and I had an unsolicited compliment. It isn’t just me needing to create...Here is a little tease.

Lace pillows and a bunny

Here is a copy-right free image for those who love them

I love McLinky not only do you get to see whats up in my world I get to see all sorts of wonderful creations. Iv'e been working on these tea dyed pillows for awhile and I'm done for now (until I think I need another that is). =) I also made a bunny not the first but I love this one.The fabric is so sweet. I have some green accents in my room and even though a stuffed animal hasn't claimed my bed as home since I was very young, she will stay for awhile.

Booga Boo

Here is my lovely oldest daughter and my grandson. She is such a blessing! I thought it would be nice to have a photo of them here since they are the inspiration behind the name of my blog. Elayna said that Booga Boo was the name she thought of when she had him. The almost 2 years since his birth has flown by at such an extremely fast pace. We are looking forward to the birth of Elayna and her husband Randy's second baby in June. Thats only 4 months. It seems to be going faster with this baby.
We have 6 kids altogether. Not all mine not all his but after 10 years the lines are blurry. Just the way God intended for our family to be.  =)
Ya know I am pretty crafty and I love to sew and so many other things but i realized that I haven't put anything here to really show that side of my life. I don't have to be brave and show my teeny tiny craft room which is messy. What about some people makes them so messy? It must be because I am a visual person. I sit down surrounded by all my little pieces and combine them into things. I think I am so very content when this happens. I am very blessed and have been for so long. We don't have a great big house or impressive cars, but we do have each other. No things could ever replace my family. When God brings the one meant for you into your life it changes things for the better! ok enough rambling.

Snow and a little pillow

It has been snowy forever! Well it feels like it anyway...so as the saying goes...have snow, make beautiful pictures. I would rather have flowers. I am so ready for flowers and besides Chihuahuas Hate snow! I have 2 of them. They are very cute except the snow thing. Ok I made this pillow the other day and thought it would be fun to show everyone. I tea dyed the material and used antique lace. The picture just doesn't do it justice.

More Mod Podge

One of my new fav blogs is Mod Podge Rocks. I have been so inspired by all the projects she has posted and the stuff she does. So in that spirit I want to show you my kitchen cabinet. Will you give me your opinion on the project. I want to know what everyone thinks of painting the cabinets behind the doors white or stain them black. I plan on re-staining the bottom cabinets black. So what do you think? There is a lot of creativity out there, let me know! :) Thanks all. Oh even the paint color on the walls is under discussion.

Blog Links

I have been busy! I didn't realize how many wonderful blogs there are out there in webland. I have added a bunch to the blog list. I am getting inspired by all you lovely ladies. These are my newly mogpoded (is that a word?) treasure boxes. My mom gave me a wonderful book of antique newspapers from the late 1800s to early 1900s from South Dakota. Aren't they fabulous! I plan on containing my jewerly in them.

Now you can see me on facebook and vice versa facebook.com/tawney.m.peterson

Dai is finally better after his tonsillectomy and adnoidectomy. He wouldn't eat and got really weak so he finally realized that maybe he should listen to mom. Tonite he ate what we had for dinner. Chicken breast, roman salad, and potatoes. I thought we should celebrate! :) We mowed the lawn and broke the pull cord again. grrr at least we know how to fix it this time. David got memberships to a gym for us and he is embracing better eating habits. That means less temptations brought home! I love ice cream. I saw a trainer today so now I have no excuses for not going. But I know I will love not being overweight!!! I think I will go 6 days a week and I'll let you know if it works out... New clothes that is tempting... I found the cutest miniatures that I will start working on soon... Organizing my house is a pretty high priority right now so not sure when I will get to them.

End of school

wow the end of the school year for my boys! Time goes by so fast I must remember to stop and smell the roses. My mom has wonderful roses every year. She is giving me a vining one I hope I do it justice. Summer is such an awesome time. We have replanted the grass in the back yard and it is coming in nicely. I killed the weeds in my garden area and am almost ready to plant. I love watching things grow and getting yummy veggies. I haven't done a garden in quite a few years. I hope the boys will want to help and don't act like its forced labor.

My first blog

Hi,
I am Tawney I thought it would be fun to create this blog because I have lots of hobbies and children and a desire to share and receive ideas from others. I am just finishing up my first semester back at college in 20 years and it has been an eye opening experience! I did great in 2 of my classes and not so great in the other 2. I took mostly all upper level courses not even thinking I should take some easy ones to ease back into the college thing. Of course my favorite class was Ancient Greek Art and Archeology. We got to replicate an original piece and I chose a rosette pin. Totally cool! It is almost done all that it needs is to be plated. I think that I will take just 2 classes next fall because I felt like I stepped out of my life for a semester and didn't get to do the things I really enjoy, like helping my children with homework. And don't even talk about painting or miniatures and the newest love in my life, my grandbaby! My husband is great tho he always encourages me to try new things and to always paint. He says I was born to paint! He is very sweet. We have been married for 9 years and I don't know what I would do without him. He is in the process of becoming a pastor and he really has a heart for people. Together we have 6 kids (3 mine, 2 his and 1 ours). After a while the lines blur and they just become all ours. It has been a tough road tho and still continues to trouble me. But I knew the teenage years would be tough. 4 of them are teenagers right now, but my oldest is married and has a very grown up outlook. I think having a baby at 19 did that. ;)
