End of school

wow the end of the school year for my boys! Time goes by so fast I must remember to stop and smell the roses. My mom has wonderful roses every year. She is giving me a vining one I hope I do it justice. Summer is such an awesome time. We have replanted the grass in the back yard and it is coming in nicely. I killed the weeds in my garden area and am almost ready to plant. I love watching things grow and getting yummy veggies. I haven't done a garden in quite a few years. I hope the boys will want to help and don't act like its forced labor.

My first blog

Hi,
I am Tawney I thought it would be fun to create this blog because I have lots of hobbies and children and a desire to share and receive ideas from others. I am just finishing up my first semester back at college in 20 years and it has been an eye opening experience! I did great in 2 of my classes and not so great in the other 2. I took mostly all upper level courses not even thinking I should take some easy ones to ease back into the college thing. Of course my favorite class was Ancient Greek Art and Archeology. We got to replicate an original piece and I chose a rosette pin. Totally cool! It is almost done all that it needs is to be plated. I think that I will take just 2 classes next fall because I felt like I stepped out of my life for a semester and didn't get to do the things I really enjoy, like helping my children with homework. And don't even talk about painting or miniatures and the newest love in my life, my grandbaby! My husband is great tho he always encourages me to try new things and to always paint. He says I was born to paint! He is very sweet. We have been married for 9 years and I don't know what I would do without him. He is in the process of becoming a pastor and he really has a heart for people. Together we have 6 kids (3 mine, 2 his and 1 ours). After a while the lines blur and they just become all ours. It has been a tough road tho and still continues to trouble me. But I knew the teenage years would be tough. 4 of them are teenagers right now, but my oldest is married and has a very grown up outlook. I think having a baby at 19 did that. ;)
